Homework 6


Homework 6: Due Friday 18 February at the end of the day. You will need to photocopy the first four sections of the Devaney book on reserve at the library. Feel free to charge the course budget.

  1. Exercise 9.1, p. 131. Also calculate the dimension of the Sierpinski triangle. (15 points)
  2. Exercise 9.2, p. 132. Also calculate the dimension of the box-fractal. (15 points)
  3. Exercise 9.3, p. 133. Also calculate the dimension of Cantor set. (15 points)
  4. Exercise 9.4, p. 135. Also calculate the dimension of the middle-fifths Cantor set. (15 points)
  5. Project 9.7, p. 139. (20 points)
